Cooked vegetables are a great addition to the BBQ and a tasty alternative to salads. Add extra flavour with garlic, herbs or chilli.
Vegetables that cook well on the BBQ:
- pre-boiled kumara
- pre-boil potato.
- Preheat barbeque to medium-high heat.
- Wash and cut vegatbles. Some vegetables eg, mushrooms, tomatoes, asparagus and corn can been barbequed whole.
- Lightly brush or spray vegetables with oil and season before cooking.
- Cook on hot plate or on grill until tender, turning regularly during cooking.
Seasonings ideas include dried or fresh herbs, garlic, ginger, pepper, dried chilli flakes, lemon zest, paprika or cajun spice.
