The good thing about buying fruit and vegetables when they are in season is the cost. Seasonal fruit and veges are more plentiful and therefore usually the cheapest. They are often on special at your supermarket or vegetable shop or try your local market for bargains.
Here is a list of what is in season in summer:
Raspberries, strawberries, blackcurrants, blueberries, boysenberries, cherries, figs, nectarines, apricots, peaches, plums, rock melon, watermelon and avocado.
Beetroot, broccoli, capsicum, carrot, celery, zucchini, cucumber, garlic, lettuce, peas, potato, radish, runner beans, sweetcorn and tomato.
